Twin baby girls rescued as China maternity hospital trafficking probe continues

Police in China have rescued twin baby girls allegedly sold by a maternity doctor, bringing the number of infants recovered from the suspected trafficking ring to three, state media reported.

They are to return them to their parents Saturday.

The provincial government in Shaanxi, northwest China, announced the twin's rescue Thursday, the state-run China Daily reported. The parents, mother Wang Yanyan and father Qi Kunfeng, of Dongcheng village, Fuping County, were scheduled to reunite with their children Saturday.

Police had earlier recovered a baby boy allegedly sold by the same obstetrician to traffickers, and reunited him with his parents Monday.

The doctor allegedly at the center of the scandal is Zhang Shuxia, deputy director of the maternity department of the Fuping County Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital, reported state-run CCTV.

Oprah Winfrey racism row over Switzerland shop incident

Billionaire U.S. media mogul Oprah Winfrey says she was the victim of racism on a recent trip to Switzerland when a shop assistant refused to show her a handbag because it was "too expensive."

Winfrey was in Zurich for Tina Turner's wedding in late July when she left her hotel alone and popped into an upscale handbag shop.

She told Entertainment Tonight: "I was in Zurich the other day at a store whose name I will not mention. I didn't have my eyelashes on, but I was in full Oprah Winfrey gear. I had my little Donna Karan skirt and sandals, but obviously The Oprah Winfrey Show is not shown in Zurich."

Tameka Foster's Custody Request Dismissed

 At least Usher can have a breathe of relief.Yesterday an  Atlanta judge has dismissed Tameka Foster's request for temporary custody of her and ex-husband Usher's sons following the near drowning of their 5-year-old Usher Raymond V.
Usher and Tameka met in court today where they each gave testimonies before the judge ruled in Usher's favor. During her time on the stand, Tameka claimed that Usher did not visit his son during his hospitalization and even became so emotional that she was brought to tears while recounting her son's underwater accident.
The dismissal means that Usher will continue to have primary custody of both Usher Raymond V and their 3-year-old son Naviyd. The 34-year-old performer was awarded primary custody of their two sons last year after a lengthy legal battle.

Paparazzi Killed After Taking Picture Of Justin Bieber’s Ferrari

A photographer was killed after snapping pictures of a Ferrari belonging to Justin Bieber, according to police reports in Los Angeles, California.
California Highway Patrol said that the luxury car belonging to Bieber was pulled over for a routine check on Sepulveda Boulevard. The photographer, who had been following the car, got out of his car to take some photos while police questioned the driver.
Bieber, who is 18-years-old was not in the vehicle at the time of the incident. One of his friends was driving the car while another friend was sitting in the passenger seat.
The photographer tried to take a series of photos while police questioned the driver and checked the car on Sunday. However, the paparazzo was advised by the Highway Patrol to stay away from the Ferrari as the situation was dangerous.
As he made his way back to his own vehicle, the photographer was hit by an oncoming car. James Stoughton of the Los Angeles Police Department, said the photographer, who was not identified, was rushed to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where he died shortly thereafter.
Police have interviewed the driver whose car struck the man, but it is unlikely that charges will be filed against him.

Mugabe's election victory challenged by opposition

Just after few days some presidents congratulated the president re-elect,the party of Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai on Friday filed an appeal challenging last week's re-election of the nation's president.

Zimbabwe's election commission had said President Robert Mugabe defeated Tsvangirai 61% to 34% in the presidential election, but Tsvangirai claimed the balloting was fraudulent.

The appeal, filed by Tsvangirai's Movement for Democratic Change, asks that the election be declared void, and calls for a new election within 60 days.

Tsvangirai, 61, had called the balloting "a fraudulent and a stolen election" -- and said he plans to mount a court challenge. The United States, the United Kingdom and Australia also called the July 31 vote into question.

It’s not often we hear of Lionel Messi doing something extravagant with all his money, but it seems like he might have done just that by purchasing his neighbour’s house.
According to a report in Spanish paper El Mundo Deportivo, Messi is currently living in the Pedralbes area of Barcelona with his wife and son, where they bought an apartment a little over a year ago. However, they are only there as a temporary measure while their house in the Castelfedells neighbourhood is being renovated.
His neighbours, who were having problems meeting the demands of their mortgage, offered to sell their house to Messi, but the Argentine wasn’t interested.
As a result, the neighbours poor behaviour increased, including a lot of noise and loud music at all hours, but that wasn’t the worst of it. To make a bit of extra cash, they started renting out the house to interested fans and celebrity spotters who wanted to get a look at the football superstar.
When he built a wall to stop this from happening, they threatened to report the Messis for making the wall too high.
As a result, Messi decided to just take their house, as they originally suggested, just to get some peace and quiet for the price of about a million euro. It’s a tough aul life all the same.

2 face charges in case of Canadian girl who hanged self after alleged rape

 
Two 18-year-old men face child pornography charges in connection with the case of a 17-year-old girl who hanged herself after she was allegedly gang-raped and bullied online, Canadian authorities said Thursday evening.

A police statement did not provide details, but the family of Rehtaeh Parsons has said she developed suicidal thoughts after she was sexually assaulted in 2011 and a picture of the incident was shared by phone and online.

The two men whose names were not released were arrested Thursday morning at their homes in Halifax, Nova Scotia, according to Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Halifax Regional Police.

One man faces two counts of distribution of child pornography, authorities said. The other is accused of one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of making child pornography.

The two, who were minors at the time of the incident, were released on a promise to appear August 15 in youth court.

Parsons was taken off life support in April, three days after she hanged herself.

Usher's Ex-Wife Files for Emergency Custody Hearing After Son Nearly Drowns in Pool

Usher's ex-wife,Tameka Foster , has filed paperwork requesting an emergency custody hearing in the wake of the pool accident that put their young son in the hospital.
In the court filling, Foster's attorney, Angela Kinley, claims that "the children are at risk while in the care of third-party caregivers...while (Usher) travels around the world for his work-related activities."
Foster is asking a Georgia judge to immediately award her temporary custody of all her minor children currently under Usher's care.

On Monday, 5-year-old Usher Raymond V was hospitalized after almost drowning in his father's pool while trying to retrieve a toy that was stuck in an underwater pool drain, according to an Atlanta police report.
Usher Raymond V's arm got stuck in the drain while he was underwater. His aunt and a housekeeper unsuccessfully tried to free him.
Two male contractors working inside the house then rushed to the pool and were able to free the boy. One of the men performed CPR, reviving the boy before medical responders arrived at Usher's home.

Snake kills two boys during sleepover, say Canada police

The sleepover went horribly wrong.

Two boys, aged 5 and 7, were found dead Monday morning in an apartment above a pet store in a small Canadian town.

Their suspected killer is a python that reportedly weighs about 100 pounds.

Early indications suggest that a snake escaped its enclosure in the store, got into the ventilation system, then the apartment, and strangled the two boys, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said.

The owner of the pet store in Campbellton, New Brunswick, says he came upon an awful sight when he entered the living room where the boys were staying.

Hanna: Snakes find way out of anything

"I thought they were sleeping until I seen the hole in the ceiling. Everything had fallen. And I turned the lights on and I seen this horrific scene," Jean-Claude Savoie said in a phone interview with the Canadian website Global News.

Savoie said he believed the snake had fallen through the ceiling as it slithered through the ventilation system.

He said he located the reptile in a hole.

"I pinned him down and put him in a cage," he said.

Man Sets Friend Ablaze In Enugu For Dating His Mum

A father of four, Mr. Sylvester Ezema, of Akpa Edem, Nsukka, Enugu State was on Saturday set ablaze by one Sunday Ugwuoke of the same community.

The incident, which happened in the early hours of morning has created much confusion and tension in the community.
A source who pleaded anonymity told DailyPost that the victim was ambushed around 5:30 a.m when he came out to urinate.                                                                                                                      According to him, “Ugwuoke on sighting Ezema, poured petrol on him before setting him ablaze. After, he ran away and is still at large till now”.                                                                                                 He further revealed that the shouting of the victim attracted sympathizers, who rushed him to Chukwudi Hospital Nsukka, where he later died. Meanwhile, Ugwuoke was alleged to have told some of his friends that he had warned the victim several times to stop having amorous relationship with his mother.Efforts by our correspondent to get reactions from the deceased’s family proved abortive as they declined comment.When contacted, the Enugu State Police Public Relation Officer, Ebere Amarizu, DSP, confirmed the incident and said that police had started investigations to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident. “The matter has been reported to the police.
